I don't think a shiny quote will help much but God's word will :)Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and don't lean on your own understanding. In all things acknowledge him, and he shall direct your way. [Proverbs 3:5, 6]”
Hebrews 6:18b-19 "Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God's inner sanctuary."
Romans 4:17 "...in the presence of Him whom he believed, even God, who gives LIFE to the dead and calls into being that which does no exist."
Romans 4:20-21 "yet with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief, but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what God promised, He was also able to perform."
Romans 8:11 and 15 "But if the Spirit off Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you...For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry 'Abba! Father!"
Dueteronomy 23:5 "Never the less, the Lord your God was not willing to listen to Balaam, but the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you because the Lord your God loves you."
These may not be your typical "pick-me-up" Bible Verses-- but I have found comfort and hope in the FACT that God keeps his promises, His promises are GOOD, He turns curses into blessings, and I am his child and have access to His inner santurary-- not the mention that His Spirit LIVES IN ME. I am never out of the reach of his power, love, and comfort.
Found a couple more! Ps. 93:3 "The floods have lifted up their voices." No storm is so great, no wave is so high, no sea is so deep, no wind is so strong, that Jesus cannot either calm it or carry us through it.
"Difficult circumstances, though unwanted and often unjust, sometimes will shatter our superficial life and unearth a person deeper that skin. As painful as the process may be, it also shatter our fragility and frees us to walk with dignity and might to our destinies". --Beth Moore
As I was typing these quotes and scriptures, I was thinking of the DiCarlo family and how empty they might sound in the midst of their pain and loss. If that is who you are wanting to encourage, I would go to the psalms-- to what David wrote after he experienced loss and pain. Job is another place-- even Ecclesiasties (sp???). I am praying for them everyday-- that they would believe that God is still Good and that His Love would begin to comfort and carry them. Anyway-- I'll keep praying for Nicole, and for whomever you are seeking to encourage.
Cry out to Jesus! Pray hard & stay Faithful, He will get you though the hardest times just hold on tight!
ReplyDeleteI hope this helps! =)
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13
ReplyDeleteOut on the farthest edge
ReplyDeleteThere in the silence
You were there
My faith was torn to shreds
Heart in the balance
And You were there
Always faithful, always good
You still have me
You still have my heart
I thought I had seen the end
Everything broken
But You were there
I've wandered at heaven's gates
I've made my bed in hell
You were there still
Always faithful, always good
You still have me
You still have my heart
You have me, You have me
You have my heart completely
You have me, You have me
You have my heart completely
You have me, You have me
You have my heart completely
You have me, You have me
You have my heart
